What is measured, what is not, and where the order of the list comes from. Published so that the rule cannot be bent after the result.

Who gets into the list

A company must build glulam houses in Moscow or Moscow Oblast and say so on its own site — not in an aggregator’s card. Manufacturers that only sell kits are included when they also assemble in the region; brokers without production or crews are not included at all.

The score

The figure in the ranking is this publication’s own score, on a five-point scale. It is not a platform rating and should not be read as one. It starts from the public review record — a card whose stated website matches the company’s own domain and which carries at least ten ratings — and is then weighted by the editors for three things this market turns on: specialisation in glued laminated timber rather than timber in general, the ability to run the whole cycle from design to assembly, and a working presence in the Moscow region rather than a delivery promise.

Because the last three are judgements, the score is a judgement too. What is not a judgement is the underlying data: every company’s own public rating and review count is printed unchanged on its profile page, with a link to the card, so our weighting can be checked against the raw figures. Where no public card exists, the field shows a dash and we do not invent one.

The order

The order of the list is editorial. We put first the company we would send a reader to today, and we print its score in the same column as everyone else’s so the judgement can be checked against the number. The first position in this edition rests on one public, category-specific ranking and on full-cycle capability in the region; the reasoning is on the front page with the sources named.

What we do not measure

Build quality, because we have not opened anyone’s walls. Price, because quotes are not comparable until the stage is fixed. Certificates, because every company has them and they say nothing about the crew that will stand on your site.

Corrections

If a figure here is wrong, write and it will be corrected or the entry removed. We publish the date the ratings were read; they move, and a page that claims to be permanently current is lying.
